How to Quickly Get System Information for Your WordPress Site

Sometimes when working with your WordPress site or asking for support in forums, you may need to find out system information about your WordPress hosting environment. For example, what version of PHP is installed on your server, what is your upload filesize limits, what is your permalinks settings, etc. This information can help you or another developer to quickly solve some common WordPress errors. In this article, we will show you how to quickly get system information for your WordPress site.

First thing you need to do is install and activate the System Snapshot Report plugin. This plugin works out of the box, and there are no settings for you to configure. Upon activation simply visit Tools » Snapshot area in your WordPress admin to look at your system information.

You can save the system information in a text file by clicking on Save Snapshot File button. You can also click on Highlight Data to select all data which you can then copy and paste anywhere you want.

Getting The Complete phpinfo() in WordPress

It’s possible when asking for support, the developers might ask for additional PHP informatoin. If you need more detailed PHP information, like which functions are available in your server’s PHP installation, then you can easily obtain that by installing WordPress phpinfo() plugin. It displays all the information you may need under Tools » phpinfo().
