So last week after we showed you how to create amazing lightboxes with OptinMonster – a WordPress popup plugin. We also showed you how to add a facebook promoter lightbox in WordPress. Some of you asked if it was possible to do the same with twitter. The good news is that it is. Although OptinMonster is the way to go when it comes to customizing popups, you can also use the Twitter Like Box Plugin that allows you to add a lightbox with the twitter follow button inside of it.
First, you will need to install and activate the Twitter Like Box Lightbox Plugin. Once you have activated it you will see that a tab is added to your admin panel with the label “Arevico Plugins”. Click on it and select Twitter Likebox from the dropdown menu. This will bring you to a screen where you can customize your plugin.
Input your twitter username and select how many followers you would like to be displayed. Also make sure to choose which pages you want the lightbox to pop up on and how long it should delay before appearing. Once you have done this click “save changes” and you are good to go!
